Umfurudzi Park is safe to walk anywhere outside of the protected and fenced buffalo breeding area. There are many marked trails and roads within the Park to walk. With special arrangements, multi day walking and wilderness camping in the park is available to the seasoned hiker.
Climbing Mt Chisinga, Svisamoyo and other mountains or granite kopje's and Dwalas in the park is also a well recommended days' outing.
Walking within the intensive breeding area is allowed with the attendance of a Park Ranger. The area contains dangerous animals namely Buffalo and Elephant.
There are many caves to explore with bushman paintings. Please enquire from Park office on information about caves and their location.
Umfurudzi Park is 760sq km, (Approximately the size of the Island of Mauritius) so there is a lot too see and explore.
