Umfurudzi is blessed with fantastic fishing. The park has a number of rivers which flow all year.
The Mazoe River is on the eastern boundry and has an abundance of fish, namely, Tiger fish, Bream Species, Bottle Nose, Barble, Vundu, Labeo and is the only river system in Zimbabawe to hold Yellow fish.

Umfurudzi River flows into the Mazowe, the same species of fish can be caught in pools within the umfurudzi all year round.
Bring your fly rod and wander up the rivers, there are some beautiful sites to see and fish to catch.
Other rivers to try are, Hosa, Gwetera and Ruanga.

There is also fishing in the dams around the park. There are 12 dams in the park, some have been stocked with Bream species. Please enquire at the Park office. Maximum 5 fish per person per day may be kept from Dams.
